A New Year, New Decade, New Astrological Era, and 2020 "Winter Greetings" to You!

Where you are, if in the Northern Hemisphere, it's Winter time.  Being a thinker and writer, I love this time of year because I can withdraw, go within, reside and stay warm by my (imaginary) fireplace, and let my creative thoughts flow.

I wouldn't know where to begin to sum up life since my last "Explorative Communications Insights Newsletter" of September 30, 2019, but a great deal of life has been happening.  I trust we would each have stories to tell.  I hope that each of you had a nice holiday season and are off to a positive, productive, and joyful new year in 2020.

You may be aware that we had a solar eclipse at 4 degrees Capricorn on Christmas Day 2019 and we just experienced a lunar eclipse at 20 degrees Cancer on January 10, 2020.  As you may already know and will see below, this only adds on to what is seen as astrologically a very historical weekend that began Friday, 1/10/20.  Not only that, it represents an ending of a long planetary era in time and the beginning of a new one.  Since eclipses are part of a series that last hundreds or even thousands of years, they are symbolically important in the long term.

An Interesting Astrological Door Opening into 2020

If you've felt some extra intensity or heaviness about these past several days, it may not have been just your imagination.  To obtain a little extra insight, I enjoyed listening to the "Astrology Hub" presentations by various nationally known astrologers share their thoughts, ideas, and perceptions about the upcoming year, the astrological transits, and recommendations on how to best approach the various issues that will come into play.

Linda Byrd, President of the NCGR Sacramento Chapter and Gemini Brett,  the primary candidate for my past decade position as Vice President of NCGR San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, were among the presenters.  Many diverse perspectives were shared and in a nutshell, digging deep, finding reality within ourselves, allowing ourselves to take risks, allowing our emotions to be felt humanly and fully, and avoiding becoming simply "robotic" were just some of the strong themes that surfaced over the weekend.

I also very much enjoyed the San Francisco Astrological Society panel presentations over at the Women's Center on Valencia in SF Saturday, January 11th.  Astrologers gave their own unique presentations based on their own research.  They included Rio Olesky, Marie Shoeppel, and Eric Meece.  Each used their own unique approach to describe what they see ahead in 2020 and beyond.  The weekend culminated with a beautiful meditation of drumming, Native American ritual, sharing of ideas and poetry, and Hawaiian chanting.  It was a nice way to unwind and absorb the vibrational energy after a full weekend of considering the future astrological energies.

Saturn and Pluto Conjoin as One and Make it Grand

We are experiencing one of the most incredible astrological conjunctions of our history on this planet in many lifetimes.  Saturn and Pluto were exactly conjunct at 22 degrees of Capricorn 11:59 AM PST Sunday, January 12, 2020.  Jupiter has yet to join these two planets but it's on its way.  According to astrologer Kaypacha, the last time that Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto were conjunct in Capricorn was in 1894 B.C.  This also correlated with the birth of Babylon.  I checked the astrology on it and even Venus conjoined Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto by the end of December 1894 B.C.; how appropriate.  Needless to say, this was a long, long time ago, but the lack of frequency of this combination makes it a very unique astronomical and astrological occurrence in our lifetimes.

Not only were Saturn and Pluto conjunct, but Sun, Mercury, and Ceres also joined in this conjunction at 22 degrees of Capricorn on Sunday.  Structures, rules, responsibility, corporate leadership, and government are all overseen and influenced by Capricorn.   Personally, goal setting, industriousness, managing projects, transformation, and cleaning the fort and its foundations of what we do are all involved.  Those of us who have cardinal sign birth dates (or prominent planets) in Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, and Libra between the 10th and 15th of January, April, July, and October are all especially affected.  For example, I personally have my Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 22 degrees of Libra.  This makes the Saturn-Pluto conjunction exactly square my natal Saturn-Neptune conjunction (within minutes).  Being on my 6th house cusp accentuates matters of health, work, and service.  I spent part of December dealing with a dental procedure, Christmas Eve at Urgent Care with bronchitis, and am still attempting to get over the cough that was generated.  It may take some time but I'll come through it as I have before.

We are all affected by this major conjunction and will be for a long time to come........this is deep.  Each of us are being affected uniquely and personally.  It will depend on the house in which the conjunctions occur and what these planets aspect in your birth chart.  There will be additional Saturn-Pluto conjunctions in Capricorn this year but this appears to be the closest and most potent one as I view it.  At the same time, we will fare best if we see this influence as an ongoing challenge to work on throughout the year.

In a nutshell, I see this major conjunction as an opportunity to reevaluate, go deep and review within, transform inert areas, take risks to do some things we've wanted to accomplish, excel in dedicated business and leadership areas, and to act with "integrity".  For those who have skirted or broken the rules and laws, violations of integrity, character, invasion, theft, and bullying will be (eventually) exposed.  Pluto digs, finds, and exposes.....Saturn teaches us to be responsible and provides us the lessons to live life well.  Pluto in Capricorn is powerful and with Saturn ruling this sign, the two can be a strong impetus to dig, reveal, grow, and emerge.  Best wishes to all of us in life during 2020 and beyond.
